Joint Representation of Trade Unions launches an open-ended strike in the
production unit of Švyturys-Utenos alus UAB.
The decision to
call a strike was made in a secret ballot, where more than half of the
employees from the mentioned unit voted for the organisation of the
strike.
The trade unions
held a secret ballot after the failure to agree upon the administration’s
compliance with the provision of the collective agreement providing for the
annual revision of employee wages by 1
April and the indexation of wages to no less than the average annual inflation
rate, as well as the coordination of specific size of wages with the trade
union.
Annual revision of
employee wages by 1 April and the
indexation of wages to no less than the average annual inflation rate has not been met since 2009.
We hereby invite all the trade unions of the companies under the
umbrella of the Carlsberg Group to show their solidarity with the trade unions
acting in Švyturys-Utenos alus UAB by adhering to the principles of democratic society
and to support the lawful claims of the company’s employees to the employer, as
regards the indexation of wages.
